Ganga Aarti - Divas Sojourn
Haridwar is known as the holiest city in India, where the river Ganga meets the Indo-Gangetic plains. The small town is famous for its Hindu temple, where lakhs of devotes come and take a dip in the Holi waters of Ganga. All your sins are believed to be relieved after taking a plunge in the sacred Har ki Pauri.
The town is dotted with several temples and ashrams. Ganga Aarti on the Ghats of Har Ki Pauri is the highlight of Haridwar. People seek blessings from the river Ganga and float divas in the river.
Haridwar also hosts one of the biggest and most famous Kumbh Mela. Every year it also hosts Kanwar Mela during Saawan i.e., rainy season.  Many people take stopovers here for the Char Dham Yatra.
There are 5 Tirth Staan, i.e., pilgrimages according to Hindu traditions.
  • Har Ki Pauri (Gangadwar)
  • Ghat (Kushwart)
  • Kankhal
  • Mansa Devi Temple (Bilwa Tirth)

The small city is also known as the Spiritual town of India. It is famous globally for Ayurveda, Yoga, and Meditation. There are unlimited yoga and wellness camps that take place throughout the year.

Highlights of Haridwar

Ganga Aarti
The religious prayer that takes place on Har ki Pauri is a must-watch. The evening aarti is an experience in itself. The entire ghat is lit with thousands of diyas. The priests perform aarti and prayers with bowls of fire.
Har Ki Pauri
Har ki Pauri means the Steps to Lord Shiva and is regarded as the most sacred place in India. It is famous for washing your sins. You will find the place serene and calm despite thousands of devotees around. The chants and mantras create magic.
According to Indian mythology Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva have visited the place in Vedic times. And celestial bird Garuda accidentally split a few drops of Amrit (elixir) over the place.
Chandi Devi Temple
Also known as Siddha peetha, the temple is one of the oldest and most respected temples. All your wishes are believed to come true if asked with utmost devotion.
The temple is jampacked during the festivals of Navratra.
You can visit this temple either via ropeway or hiking. Many people prefer to hike due to its location and beauty. It is surrounded by greenery, and the views are amazing as you climb up.
Mansa Devi Temple
Another famous temple of Haridwar. The goddess Mansa Devi is considered a form of Shakti (power) and is believed to have emerged from Lord Shiva’s mind.
The temple is at the top of the Bilwa parvat on Shivalik hills.
Mansa means wish. As the name suggests, all your wishes and dreams are believed to be fulfilled.  This is why thousands of devotees visit this temple every year.
