Top Places to Visit in Spiti – Divas Sojourn

Spiti, which means “the middle land,” is located in Himachal Pradesh at 12,500 feet.  The Himalayan mountains surround the beautiful valley. It gets only 250 days of sunlight a year, which is why it is also called the cold desert.
The valley is a paradise on earth and is one of the best places to travel for adventure lovers. It has some of the best hiking and trekking routes.
Here are the top places which you must visit in Spiti.
Key Monastery
Spiti is full of monasteries, and Key Monastery is one of the oldest and largest monasteries in the valley. It is located at an altitude of 4166 m above sea level and close to the Spiti River.
It is a famous Tibetan Buddhist monastery and enshrines the idol of Buddha in a Dhyana mudra. The monastery also works as a training center for the Lamas. Almost 300 lamas have received their religious training from here.
Chandratal Lake
The name Chandra tal, i.e., the lake of the moon, comes from its crescent shape. Located at a height of 4300 m, the lake is considered one of the most beautiful lakes in the mighty Himalayas.
The lake is also one of the high-altitude wetlands of India. It attracts thousands of adventure freaks, especially during springtime. And it is one of the best locations for camping.
