Day 1 (Bagdogra to Phuentsholing) A flight from your state can be taken till Bagdogra. Direct flight to Paro is quite exorbitant. Then enjoy your road journey to Bhutan-Phuentsholing which is scenic, pretty and adorned by many scenic views. It is around 5 hours drive to Bhutan border from Bagdogra airport. Bhutan’s atmosphere is totally different from that of India’s. Even in night if you reach you can easily see the change. The border town on India side is Jaigaon whereas the border town on Bhutan side is Phuentsholing. Samdrup Jonkhar is another border town which is connected with Assam. But Phuentsholing is used mostly to enter and exit Bhutan via land border. As soon as you cross the border and enter Bhutan, you’ll notice the change in architecture of buildings. In Bhutan it’s mandatory to follow this architecture for all buildings. Almost all the buildings have a photo of King and Queen’s hanged at the top of door. Indians generally don’t need visa to travel Bhutan. They just need Tourist Permit for Thimpu and Paro which are the main attractions of this county.

You shouldn’t get scared of seeing long cluttered queues which are for daily wage workers. A queue for tourist is different from them. Bhutanese officials will cross check your details, take your photos and then ask you to collect your permit after some time. Depending on season and time it takes around 30 minutes to 120 minutes. Meanwhile, you can take a walk to zangto Pelri Lhakang and Dhoti Chhu river which is 15 minutes walk from there. But with DIVAS SOJOURN BHUTAN TRIP you can be assured that these hassles will be taken care of your DIVAS SOJOURN buddy.
